Fertility Clinic Bombing Suspect Dies in Custody

A suspect in the deadly bombing of a California fertility clinic has died in federal custody. Officials say 32-year-old Daniel Park was found unresponsive on June 24 at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.

Staff attempted life-saving measures, and Park was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Bureau of Prisons has not released a cause or manner of death. Park was arrested earlier this month in connection with the May 17 bombing at a Palm Springs clinic. That blast killed the primary suspect, Guy Bartkus, and injured several others. Investigators allege Park helped supply 270 pounds of ammonium nitrate and shared Bartkus’ views. He was not in California during the attack and was later detained by authorities in Poland.
