Udaipur Katha at Sterling Jaisinghgarh Udaipur has added to Rajasthan’s heritage of food by offering its royal dining experience. It has now received the Travel + Leisure Delicious Dining Awards 2026 for revitalizing Rajasthani cuisine with contemporary and traditional Mewari flavors along with an immersive cultural experience.
The prestigious recognition highlights the restaurant’s innovative celebration of Rajasthan’s gastronomic legacy, where traditional Mewari flavours meet contemporary culinary artistry. With a focus on authentic ingredients, creative presentation, refined service and a culturally inspired setting, Udaipur Katha offers guests an experience that reflects the royal charm and timeless traditions of Udaipur.
Launched during the New Year celebrations in December, Udaipur Katha was created as ‘Mewar’s evening ritual’ — an immersive dining concept that brings together heritage, storytelling and cuisine. Built around the elements of fire, flavour and regional narratives, the restaurant presents a modern interpretation of Rajasthan’s culinary treasures through signature creations such as BBQ Laal Maas, Zaffrani Boti, Jackfruit Shashlik, Ghewar Cheesecake and Baked Churma Tart.
The experience extends beyond the menu, with rooftop dining spaces, sunset gatherings, traditional performances, folk music and cultural evenings adding depth to every visit. Through its distinctive ambience and curated experiences, Udaipur Katha transforms a meal into a journey through the colours, flavours and traditions of Mewar.

The award further strengthens Udaipur Katha’s growing reputation among travellers and food enthusiasts. Between January and July 2026, the restaurant recorded a significant rise in its Tripadvisor ranking among Udaipur restaurants, moving from 57th position to 34th, while continuing to achieve an impressive 4.9 rating across both Tripadvisor and Google.
Commenting on the recognition, Anupam Dutta, Chief Marketing Officer, Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited, said:
“Udaipur Katha is a wonderful example of what happens when the character of a destination is brought alive through food, storytelling and warm hospitality. Across Sterling, we are discovering and bringing to the fore such hidden jewels within our destinations, giving them a distinctive identity through concepts rooted in local flavours, culture and stories.
Food can be much more than an accompaniment to a stay. A thoughtfully created and consistently delivered restaurant can become an experience in its own right — and even a reason to visit the destination. This recognition for Udaipur Katha is an important validation of that belief.”

Udaipur Katha represents Sterling’s evolving food and beverage vision, where restaurants are no longer viewed merely as supporting amenities but as independent culinary experiences that add character and identity to its resorts. This strategy is being expanded through a range of destination-inspired concepts, including Amo Odisha in Puri, The Malabar in Wayanad, Pahaare – Tastes of Gorkha in Darjeeling, Ocean’s Kitchen in Alleppey, Doon Diner in Mussoorie and Slate & Pearl at Kodai Lake.
Each concept is carefully developed around the unique essence of its location, incorporating local flavours, indigenous ingredients, regional traditions and cultural narratives to create memorable dining journeys. For Sterling, speciality restaurants are emerging as a key element in elevating guest experiences, increasing resort visibility and attracting diners beyond in-house travellers.
The recognition received by Udaipur Katha strengthens this culinary approach and highlights the potential for expanding more locally inspired, destination-focused dining concepts across Sterling’s growing portfolio of resorts.
