Producer Taylor Sheridan is known for bringing the same actors back for multiple projects. For instance, James Jordan has appeared in six of Sheridan’s projects, playing different characters in Wind River, Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, Special Ops: Lioness, and Landman. So it’s understandable that an actor in one of his shows might wonder whether they could appear in another.
One of Sheridan’s newest shows is The Madison, about a wealthy New York family that relocates to the remote Madison River Valley in central Montana to heal after a tragic accident. Michelle Pfeiffer plays family matriarch Stacy Clyburn, while Elle Chapman plays her daughter, Paige McIntosh. MovieWeb asked Chapman if she’d like to appear on any of Sheridan’s other shows:
There’s so many awesome ones that he’s working on right now. They just finished filming Frisco King, so I can’t join that. Honestly, it would be pretty fun to join Dutton Ranch because Natalie Lind, who plays Oreana on that, is one of my really good friends. So, I would love that, [it] would be so much fun to work with her. We would have a blast.
The first season of Frisco King, a spin-off of Tulsa King, did indeed finish filming in July 2026. However, cameras aren’t expected to start rolling on the second season of Dutton Ranch until early 2027, so Chapman may still have time to join the show.
A spin-off of Yellowstone, Dutton Ranch follows Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and her husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), who try to start a new life in South Texas. Their adopted son Carter (Finn Little) begins a romance with Oreana Lynn Jackson, the granddaughter of ranch owner Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening). Oreana is played by Natalie Lind, Elle Chapman’s friend.
The first season of Dutton Ranch ends on a series of intense cliffhangers, leaving many directions for the show to take next. Taylor Sheridan himself is said to be more involved in the upcoming second season, and although we don’t know what new characters he and his team are planning to introduce, there could be one that Elle Chapman would be perfect for.
Dutton Ranch is expected to return for its second season on Paramount+ sometime in 2027, although we don’t have an exact release date. Since the second season of The Madison has already been filmed, it will return first, likely in early 2027. So whether or not Elle Chapman ends up getting a role on Dutton Ranch, we’ll see her back in action on a Taylor Sheridan show soon.
