Netflix has officially laid its cards on the table for its upcoming psychological thriller Ballad of a Small Player. Director Edward Berger is hoping to continue his successful streak of adapting books for the screen, following All Quiet on the Western Front and last year’s Oscar-winner Conclave, with his movie treatment of Lawrence Osborne’s 2014 novel. The streamer has confirmed that his latest feature will open in select U.S. theaters on Oct. 15, 2025, and in U.K. and Ireland cinemas on Oct. 17, 2025, ahead of its debut on Netflix on Oct. 29, 2025.
