Former President Joe Biden has again signed a deal with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the talent representation firm announced on Monday.
This move marks Biden’s return to the agency that previously represented him from 2017 to 2020, according to an Instagram post by CAA.
During his initial tenure with CAA, the agency reported that Biden’s memoir, “Promise Me, Dad,” became a New York Times bestseller, and his “American Promise” tour sold over 85,000 tickets across 42 dates nationwide.
Richard Lovett, co-chairman of CAA, said he was looking forward to the renewed partnership.
“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” Lovett stated. “His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”
Biden’s signing with CAA adds him to a roster of prominent political figures represented by the agency, including former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama’s production company, Higher Ground Productions. Other notable political clients include former national security adviser Susan Rice, former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke, and former U.S. Senator Joe Manchin.
CAA has long been known for representing Democratic politicians and left-leaning figures. The agency’s website describes its mission as creating “limitless opportunities for the storytellers, trendsetters, icons, and thought leaders who shape popular culture.”
As Biden re-enters private life, his partnership with CAA is expected to create various opportunities in public speaking, book deals, and media projects.
The former president’s extensive political career extends decades after first elected to public office in 1970 as a New Castle County councilman in Delaware.
His tenure as the nation’s 46th president began with his inauguration on Jan. 20, 2021. Amid mounting pressure from within the Democratic Party, the then 81-year-old dropped out of his reelection bid on July 21, 2024, in the wake of a challenging debate against the GOP candidate, former president Donald Trump. Shortly after his announcement, he endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, as his replacement in the 2024 race, which saw Trump retake the Oval Office.
