A cryptocurrency millionaire has been killed after his £329,000 flipped over on a highway and burst into flames. Alexei Dolgikh, 36, was driving three friends in his luxury Lamborghini Urus when when lost control and smashed into a crash barrier in Moscow. The car crashed at 1.30am local time on the busy road and caught fire in a horrific explosion.

Photographs of show wads of cash scattered across the motorway. Dolgikh died instantly along with one of his passengers, Ivan Solovyov. Nikita Tezikov, 21, and Kirill Mochalov, 22, were both rushed to hospital with injuries, but survived.

It has been confirmed by the State Traffic Inspectorate that Dolgikh lost control as he hit the barrier, causing the car to flip, but the cause of this is being investigated.

The Moscow Prosecutor’s Office said: “According to preliminary information, at night on International Highway, the driver of a Lamborghini hit an obstacle, after which the vehicle overturned and caught fire.

“As a result of the accident, two young guys were killed, two more were hospitalised with injuries.

“One of the victims has an open leg fracture, the second also has multiple fractures, he was taken to the Botkin hospital. The causes and all the circumstances of the accident are being clarified.”

In recent months, Dolgikh had reportedly been blacklisted by Russian banks “due to suspicions of money laundering”. 

According to local media, he amassed a staggering 586 in just 15 months of owning the Lamborghini, most of them for speeding.
