Suspicious envelopes full of white powder have caused a scare at New York’s ICE field office in Manhattan on Thursday afternoon. Emergency personnel were forced to evacuate the building.
Within minutes of the incident, New York City Fire Department’s HazMat teams, NYPD Emergency Service Units, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the New York City Emergency Management arrived at the scene to ensure the safety of people inside the building and the immediate vicinity.
