The Turning Point USA (TPUSA) Board announced on Thursday that it has named Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow, as the new CEO and Chair of the Board.
The board also said the decision was unanimous.
It also shared a letter signed by board members announcing the move, reiterating that the decision was important to carry Kirk’s legacy forward.
“All of us at Turning Point USA have a special role in carrying Charlie Kirk’s mantle and completing his vision of bringing us all closer to our Lord and fostering a prosperous country for generations to come. As Charlie always said, ‘We have a country to save.’ We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on. The attempt to destroy Charlie’s work will become our chance to make it more powerful and enduring than ever before.”
Erika is the leader of BIBLEin365, a ministry that guides thousands of people through the Bible each year. She also runs a faith-centered clothing company called Proclaim. Additionally, the 36-year-old entrepreneur hosts a weekly devotional podcast called “Midweek Rise Up” and a Monday Meditations series.
Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while speaking to a large crowd at Utah Valley University as part of TPUSA’s “American Comeback” tour. The popular conservative activist was known for visiting college campuses across the country and holding debates with students on controversial topics. He was 31 years old.
Following his death, Erika vowed to carry out his legacy and told supporters: “My husband’s voice will remain.”
