GOP Lawmakers Face a July 18 Deadline to Pass Rescissions Package

The White House has requested Congress to rescind around $9.4 billion of already appropriated funds for USAID, NPR, and PBS. The rescission would only cut 8 percent of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and 9 to 17 percent of public broadcasting funding. Congress has a July 18 deadline to pass the package.
