
EHRENBERG SØRENSEN Kommunikation, an international communications agency specializing in transport, tourism and food & wine, has announced the appointment of Maarja Edman to its advisory board.
In this role, Edman will leverage her extensive experience in strategy, business development, and stakeholder engagement to support the agency’s management and clients.
Maarja Edman has held executive leadership positions in both public and private sectors.
Notably, she served as the CEO of Visit Trelleborg, where she enhanced the city’s branding and increased revenue through innovative collaborations.
Under her leadership, Trelleborg’s tourism strategy received international recognition for sustainability. Additionally, Edman played a pivotal role in achieving consecutive tourism growth records across multiple destinations.
Prior to her tenure at Visit Trelleborg, Edman was the Head of Business Intelligence at Höga Kusten Destinationsutveckling and the Regional Director of Tourism at Visit Västernorrland.
In the private sector, she has held leadership roles in major international hotel chains, including InterContinental Hotels Group, Hilton International, and Scandic Hotels.
At EHRENBERG SØRENSEN Kommunikation’s advisory board, Edman joins Søren Poulsgaard Jensen and Anne-Sophie Hottiaux.
Jensen, the former CEO of Scandlines and a chief executive at A.P. Moller Maersk, brings over 30 years of experience in the maritime industry, specializing in strategy, business development, and operations.
Hottiaux, based in Germany and originally from France, is the Managing Director EMEA and Germany at global communications agency HOPSCOTCH Season, bringing extensive agency and brand activation experience.
Edman’s career spans multiple European countries, including Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria, and the UK, providing her with a profound understanding of international markets and cross-cultural business environments.
She expressed her enthusiasm about joining EHRENBERG SØRENSEN Kommunikation, stating that the agency’s commitment to strategic development and industry collaboration aligns with her professional values, and she looks forward to contributing her expertise to support future growth and innovation.
