That department runs regimented training programs centered on “Xi Jinping Thought” provided to the Party elites and controls the placement of CCP members in key leadership positions, according to the committee’s letter to Harvard.
The new evidence also centers on Harvard Kennedy School’s partnership with the Chinese Executive Leadership Academy Pudong (CELAP), which is operated by the CCP Organization Department.
Lawmakers have requested that Harvard produce all documents from 2015 onward showing collaborations with any CCP or Chinese government entities, and provide a complete list of all monetary and non‑monetary benefits received from CCP‑linked sources.
The span of this request covers anything Harvard received from ministries, commissions, state‑owned enterprises, research institutions, universities, military and paramilitary bodies, regional and local governments, subsidiaries, affiliates, instrumentalities, agents, intermediaries, and any representatives of the People’s Republic of China or the CCP.
The committee also called out Harvard’s research collaborations with Chinese military‑linked universities and CCP‑based organ‑transplantation researchers. The committee warned that such ties raise serious concerns amid forced organ harvesting and other systemic human rights abuses by the CCP.
According to the committee letter, the requested information will further the committee’s understanding of these issues, as well as legislative and policy recommendations. Harvard has not publicly responded to the letter. The investigation remains ongoing, according to the committee.
NTD has reached out to Harvard for comment and has not heard back before publication time.
