The helicopter circling over Cornwall has been confirmed to be part of a search operation for a “possible casualty in the water”.Â
Newquay coastguard search and rescue team said in a statement that they were “called to assist Newquay RNLI Lifeboats, Devon & Cornwall Police, Padstow Lifeboat & Newquay Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924 after reports came in of a possible casualty in the water at Towan.”
After an “intensive search” of the area the Coastgaurd confirmed that all assets stood down. there are still set to be further enquiries.Â
