According to NTD Taiwan, police on the island have launched an investigation into a series of bomb threats targeting performances in Taiwan by Shen Yun, a U.S.-based classical Chinese dance company founded by Falun Gong practitioners. The police investigation concluded that the source of the threatening messages was in Xi’an, a city in Shaanxi Province, China, specifically from the “Huawei Research Institute,” tying the threats to the Chinese tech giant with close Chinese Communist Party ties. Levi Browde, executive director of the Falun Dafa Information Center, joins NTD’s Tiffany Meier to discuss the latest in the probe and Beijing’s transnational repression in Taiwan, United States, and around the world.
