Royal Family’s cutting 1-word reaction to Meghan Markle twerking video revealed by insider | Royal | News

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been accused of being “tragic” in the eyes of the royals, according to a source described as a well-placed palace insider. The pair have once again been in the crosshairs of royal fans, after Meghan posted on Instagram a video dating back four years in which she could be seen dancing and twerking just hours before the birth of Princess Lilibet.

The video, which was filmed as the Duchess of Sussex was trying to induce labour and was shared this week to mark her daughter’s birthday, has sparked outrage around the world and according to a royal insider, the Palace is not best pleased either. According to Maureen Callahan in the Mail, a source told her that the King and Queen are aghast at Harry and Meghan’s attention-grabbing displays. “There is a general sense [in the Palace] that they have lost it”, the source said.

The source also claimed, according to the commentator, that the video had caused “a lot of raised eyebrows” and that the royals found the display “tragic”.

Ms Callahan was scathing of the Duchess of Sussex’s decision to publish the video online.

She wrote: “Truly: what’s more royal, more regal — more befitting an American woman who married into her title and never lets us forget that she is a duchess — than releasing a home movie of yourself lifting up your dress, spreading your legs and gyrating while on the verge of giving birth?”.

While the video has left many royal fans around the world bemused, others with longer memories were less than shocked. This is because Harry had previously mentioned the moment in his memoir Spare, published in 2023.

Speaking about his daughter’s birth in his tell-all memoir, Harry said: “[There was] nothing but joy and love in that room. We ate and ate and then did the Baby Mama dance around the hospital room.”

When posting the video, Meghan explained that the dance was an effort to induce labour. She wrote under the clip on Instagram: “Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!”
