Saturday horse racing tips
- NEWMARKET
1.30: Blessed Star to place top 3 – 20/21 (2pts)
2.40: Cinderella’s Dream 5/2 (1pt)
3.50: Hot Flame 11/4 (1.5pts) - ASCOT
1.50: Beautiful Diamond 5/2 (1pt)
2.25: Hamish 2/1 (1pt)
Blessed Star
Blessed Star stayed on well when she finally got the room and claimed second behind Cape Flora.
That form is obviously very encouraging, but the fact this horse has consistently placed in the top 3 is both a bonus and a bit of a negative if betting on her to win, which is why a place bet seems the best value for such a consistent horse.
Cinderella’s Dream
The Sun Chariot Stakes is looking tasty with a few serial winners and already proven Group 1 runners.
Lady Of Spain has gone 5-5 now coping well with the step up from handicap company to Group 3 at Sandown.
She came back from a fairly long absence to justify that move but now has to step up to face two Group 1 winners – Cinderalla’s Dream & Fallen Angel.
I can’t ignore the Appleby x Buick combination that always seems to do so well here.
They haven’t had the best of seasons admittedly but this lightly raced filly certainly has the class to win this at a nice price.
Hot Flame
I’ve been waiting for this horse to make a return after winning well last time out.
The Too Darn Hot filly was tipped to win 30 days prior and bolted up to win by two lengths at 3/1.
She’s been upped just 4lb for that which seems a little lenient so she can make the most of that here with the step up in trip likely to suit.
Beautiful Diamond
Beautiful Diamond placed second in this race last year on soft and it could well be those conditions again for this in-form filly.
She comes into this on the back of a superb win off top-weight at Ayr a couple of weeks ago and showed she’s in great shape for this race.
Hamish
From a few races at Ascot where there’s not much course form to shout about, to this Group 3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes where Hamish and Al Qareem head the market in a field with plenty of course and distance winners.
Hamish won here at his third time of asking but that was back in 2022 on his last visit to the course.
He’s won three on the bounce now at some tough tracks and is showing he’s found his consistency.
And has also beaten Al Qareem on two occasions where they both went 1st and 2nd in close battles which looks likely again.
