Tennessee law enforcement officials announced a death investigation into what police have determined as a murder-suicide that occurred in Humphreys County involving a mother, her two sons, and a grandmother.
“Without delving into details, because this case is still being investigated, the husband was confirmed to be several states away to begin with,” Captain Clay Anderson told NTD. “This is an absolute case of murder/suicide and no suspects are outstanding.”
Administrative assistant Chris Davis for Humphreys County Sheriff confirmed that the deceased include 32-year-old Heather Michell Thompson; her two sons, 4-year-old Arius Thompson and 13-year-old Isaiah Thompson; and their great-grandmother, 88-year-old Evelyn Johnson, who was Heather Thompson’s grandmother.
“We’ve never had a call to their home address,” the sheriff’s administrative assistant told NTD. “Heather was a welder by trade.”
The sheriff’s office added that the four individuals died by shooting, and Heather Thompson is believed to have pulled the trigger based on the way the bodies were found.
Law enforcement further confirmed that the father of the two boys is Jeremiah ‘Biah’ Thompson, who created a tribute on social media and identified himself as the father of Arius (Ari) and Isaiah Thompson.
Jeremiah Thompson did not respond to requests for comment by the time of publication.
“Heather demonstrated her commitment to her craft with unwavering dedication and professionalism,” the obituary notes. “Her work not only reflected her skills but also her strong belief in the value of teamwork. Heather served honorably in the Army National Guard, exemplifying courage and resilience.”
“The funeral services haven’t been arranged yet…anything helps [sic] brings my sons closer to home and me,” he said. “Thank you. Please share my post.”
Thompson is requesting $18,000 in his online fundraiser and has raised $16,270 as of Tuesday evening.
“As a father it hurt and shattered my soul to hear my sons, Arius (Ari) and Isaiah have been taken from me and are no longer with us,” he said. “They were just babies. Every second of today i wish i could just wake up.”
