One such incident involved her picture with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor going viral from the streets of New York. They could be seen smoking together which also led to their dating rumors. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that it was a difficult phase for her after her pictures with Kapoor had gone viral.
Mahira Khan Thought Her Career Had Ended
In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Mahira Khan said the period was extremely overwhelming. For the unversed, her viral pictures caused much scrutiny and backlash, especially among Pakistani fans. She remembered reading the BBC article ‘The Little White Dress,’ which was about her viral pictures with Ranbir Kapoor. For the unversed, the Humsafar actress wore a skimpy sleeveless, and backless white dress in her viral pictures. She said, “In that article, it was written that ‘here is a woman who has achieved this kind of success that no one in Pakistan has achieved, all the endorsements and all that, and now it is all gone. What is going to happen to her?’ I read it and I was like, ‘damn.’”
Mahira Khan’s Mental Health Was In Shambles
The Raees actress further recalled having her mental health in shambles after her pictures with Kapoor went viral. Mahira Khan added, “But I told myself, ‘Are you mad? This is going to end,’ maybe it was the 14-year-old Mahira that told me. But I won’t lie that that time was very tough. I wouldn’t get out of the bed; I was crying daily, it affected my professional and personal life. Lots happened on my personal side.”
Well, the actress showcased a brave forefront and chose to move forward by ignoring several obstacles during this phase. On the work front, she will be seen in the web series Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo. The series will be released on the OTT streaming platform Netflix.
