In a bold and time-relevant move that is sure to delight movie fans, Warner Bros. Entertainment has made 31 of its full-length movies available for free on its YouTube channels, including 2000’s Dungeons & Dragons,
and the Jackie Chan movie Mr. Nice Guy. The refreshing approach to content distribution, however, is a strategy that aims to boost visibility and generate digital ad revenue, with the additional benefit of making a diverse range of cinematic gems accessible to a wider audience.
According to Variety, ever since 2025 began, the entertainment giant has quietly been dropping movies on its Warner Bros.-owned YouTube channels, all available to stream for free. Of course, the movies still include ads for those who do not own a YouTube Premium subscription. These movies include a mix of genres and eras, with titles like the 1935 adventure Mutiny on the Bounty, the 2002 sci-fi comedy starring Eddie Murphy, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, and the 1996 Christopher Guest mockumentary, Waiting for Guffman. The playlist is introduced with a message that reads:
“Watch your favorite full movies here from Warner Bros. Entertainment! All your favorite legends are here, including Jackie Chan, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine O’Hara, Tarzan, Liam Neeson, Julia Roberts, Eugene Levy, and more! Keep an eye out for more feature-length films for free, right here.”
This Jackie Chan-Starring Film Has 16M+ Views On YouTube Already
Not all of these movies are considered timeless classics and huge blockbusters, but they are nonetheless crowd-pleasers that viewers can enjoy for the pure entertainment value they provide. Warner Bros. simply seems to be wanting to improve the visibility and discoverability of its content, and the idea of making titles available to stream for free on YouTube appears to be paying off. Evidence is the success of Mr. Nice Guy, a 1997 action-comedy starring Jackie Chan, which has already garnered over 16 million views on YouTube since its release. In the movie, Chan plays a celebrity chef who gets entangled in a web of drug lords and criminal battles after saving a journalist from danger.
