Wednesday horse racing tips

  • PONTEFRACT
    3.00: Gold Queen Kindly 5/6 (1.5pts)
    3.30: Garden Oasis 9/2 (1pt)
  • KEMPTON
    6.35: Ruler Of Time 10/11 (2pts)
    7.10: Shinara 10/3 (1pt)

Gold Queen Kindly

Lope De Vega colt running for the first time for a trainer that often gets his two-year-olds ready and primed for their career debuts.

Clifford Lee is also an expert in riding them and makes for a top bet with this well-bred colt.

Would usually go for a full 2pts on a horse like this but there’s still much to go wrong with debutants and unexposed two-year-olds as a whole so it’s always worth airing on the side of caution with 1.5pts staked.

Garden Oasis

Won twice this season before placing well behind Cosmos Raj at Ripon last time out.

He was giving away as much as 9lb that day but only gives 1lb in this, both of which came with Cian Horgan on board claiming 5lb so Garden Oasis should be able to go one better, still going strong at ten-years-old.

Ruler Of Time

2nd on debut and may well be the second string according to the cap colour of the two Godolphin horses.

But not only does William Buick opt for this ride but the colt is also the odds-on favourite for trainer Charlie Appleby.

He was just 4/1 last time out, also under Buick on debut at Newbury, and should improve a lot after doing well considering how he ran green.

Oftentimes these two-year-olds will benefit a lot from their first run and quickly get the hang of things.

Shinara

Dark Angel filly who appeals a lot on paper for trainer Roger Varian who’s having a solid season.

Jockey Silvestre De Sousa often does well at Kempton in these kind of circumstances and the three-year-old being just 10/3 on debut up against the twice-raced Jewelry, says a lot about her potential.

The trainer and jockey also have another in the race after which can make for a great double.
