Prime Video has become one of the best streaming platforms for original programming, making it an ideal place to look for a series to binge. There are a number of completed Prime Video originals that are ideal for that purpose, from Fleabag to The Expanse. However, those looking for unfinished shows to catch up on will find plenty of options on that front as well. Sometimes, it’s fun to be a part of the conversation while a TV show is ongoing. It often means less content to get through, too, as some current series are only a couple of seasons in.
Such is the case for several of these Prime Video hits, including a beloved video game adaptation and one of the most stunning fantasy shows to come out of the 2020s. Of course, being three or four seasons in doesn’t make a project any less bingeable. As long as there’s action and suspense, a series will keep audiences hooked. And so many of Prime Video’s originals deliver on both fronts, making it a great platform for anyone who watches a lot of television.

‘Reacher’
Alan Ritchson’s Series Is Thrilling and Action-Packed
One of Prime Video’s biggest ongoing shows is Reacher, and there’s a reason Alan Ritchson’s action-thriller series is so popular. Based on the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, the show delivers charm and suspense from its very first episode. It wastes no time throwing viewers into the world of Ritchson’s titular character, who is as compelling as he is eccentric. The premiere has great banter, a mystery that expands beyond its run, and gripping action. It also ends on a cliffhanger that will leave audiences with questions. It’s a surefire way to get people to binge the entire story.
And Reacher continues to be incredibly bingeable; it feels like the show is constantly plowing forward. There’s plenty of action throughout, and its hero moves with a competence that makes the fight scenes incredibly fun to watch. The mysteries at the heart of each season also ensure Reacher is impossible to put down.
With Reacher Season 4 premiering on August 12, now’s the ideal time to catch up on the series too. Those who can work through the first three seasons will be rewarded with yet another mystery once they’re caught up. There’s also the upcoming Neagley spin-off to look forward to. ‘Fallout’
Prime Video’s Video Game Adaptation Is Non-Stop Fun
Fallout is one of the strongest video game adaptations to grace the small screen, and the show is entertaining throughout its two seasons. Set in a post-apocalyptic United States, Fallout shows viewers the lead-up to the “end” of the world, as well as what it looks like for those who survive it. The series offers multiple perspectives, from the sheltered Lucy MacLean, who spends most of her life growing up in a nuclear bunker, to characters who remain on the surface throughout, like Maximus and the Ghoul.
Fallout is masterful when it comes to balancing its dark, high-stakes story with humor, a juggling act that makes it so much fun to watch. Its characters will also keep viewers invested. Even Walton Goggins’s Ghoul is compelling in his dubious morals. And the questions surrounding his backstory and the greater conspiracies at play present a strong mystery for audiences to cling onto.
With just two seasons so far, Fallout makes a solid choice for a binge. And Fallout Season 3 is already green-lit, so there’s no concern about the show not being renewed. Even those who haven’t played the games will find something to appreciate here.

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’
For a High Fantasy Series, This One Is Surprisingly Bingeable
High fantasy has a reputation for being complex and taking time to digest. However, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is straightforward enough to dive into, even if you haven’t seen The Lord of the Rings — though I’d implore viewers to watch the films beforehand anyway. Set during the Second Age of Middle-earth, The Rings of Power chronicles Sauron’s first rise to power. It gives a lot of context to the world and story featured in The Lord of the Rings, but it’s also an intriguing fantasy narrative in its own right.
Admittedly, the pacing can be slow at points, mostly because The Rings of Power takes time to set up its larger picture. But there are also big action pieces at the end of both seasons, along with some major twists. Those things make it easy to work through, as do the compelling characters. Visually, it’s also a feast. Anyone who enjoys masterful world-building will keep watching for the views alone.
The Rings of Power returns for Season 3 on November 11, so those who binge it soon will be able to dive into the newest batch of episodes as they’re dropping. The Lord of the Rings show is supposed to reset itself during this chapter, leaning into darker storytelling. That may make it even more bingeable by the time Season 3 is through.

‘The Legend of Vox Machina’
The Animated Fantasy Show Is Bingeable With Its 30-Minute Episodes
Another worthy Prime Video binge for fantasy lovers is The Legend of Vox Machina, the animated series based on Critical Role’s first D&D campaign. Set in the fantasy world of Exandria, the show follows a group of mercenaries as they become unlikely heroes. The character dynamics and banter alone are well worth tuning in for, but the show benefits from many strengths that make it addictive. There are great twists, and it packs a serious emotional punch when it wants to. It balances its darker, more gutting turns with comedy, and it proves an absolute delight because of it.
The Legend of Vox Machina also has 30-minute episodes, which makes it a breeze to get through, even at four seasons. The fourth outing came out earlier this year, and Season 5 will be the show’s last hurrah. Prime Video subscribers still have time to catch up before Vox Machina’s adventures come to a close. Its spin-off series, The Mighty Nein, is also ongoing — and also bingeable.

‘Invincible’
The Superhero Show Brings the Action and Emotion
The Boys might be over, but Prime Video has another gritty superhero show that’s ongoing and worth a watch: Invincible. Based on Robert Kirkman’s comic series, Invincible takes place in a world where superpowers and superheroes are the norm. It follows teenage Mark Grayson, the son of one of the most famous superheroes on Earth, as he comes into his own powers — and learns disturbing truths in the process.
Invincible excels when it comes to both action and emotion, offering to take viewers on quite a ride. There’s always some threat Mark must contend with, even if it’s not consistently connected to the overarching plot. And the episodes that do come back to that story are always gripping. Invincible really has everything you could want in a binge-watch: big twists, punchy action, emotional payoff, and fun side quests.
Invincible Season 5 is already confirmed, so again, there’s no worry about the show getting canceled when Prime Video subscribers are done watching its first four seasons. They go by fast, but those who find themselves enthralled by this story will want to savor them.

‘We Were Liars’
The Adaptation Packs a Punch With Its Ending Twists
We Were Liars is one of the lesser-known Prime Video originals on this list, but it blew up when it debuted in 2025 — and it’s getting a second season, though it’s going to be a prequel rather than a direct continuation of the story. Even still, it’s worth catching up before the newest chapter arrives. Based on the novel by E. Lockhart, We Were Liars transports viewers to a private island owned by the wealthy Sinclair family.
The show follows Cadence Sinclair, who is returning to the regular family vacation spot after a traumatic incident that left her isolated from her cousins and closest friend. She doesn’t remember much about the event, which adds a mystery component to this beachy tale. That leads into a surprisingly dark twist at the end of it, one that will leave viewers sobbing (but not regretting that they flew through this story).
Like most thrillers, We Were Liars offers a pace and level of suspense that compels audiences to press play on the next episode. And with just a single season, it’s a quick viewing experience. It also works as a standalone, so while the series is technically ongoing, viewers won’t be left on any frustrating cliffhangers.

‘Ballard’
The ‘Bosch’ Spin-Off Has Multiple Layers of Suspense

Speaking of ongoing Prime Video shows that currently sit at a single season, Ballard makes a great binge for anyone who enjoys crime thrillers. The Bosch spin-off follows Renée Ballard as she runs a unit committed to solving cold cases — and it balances its individual investigations with deeper police conspiracies. Both the cold cases and larger schemes make for gripping viewing material, adding multiple layers of suspense to this show.
Like Reacher, Ballard benefits from its lead. Maggie Q brings Renée to life in a manner that makes viewers respect and empathize with her. It’s easy to get invested in her undertakings, adding further incentive to burn through all 10 episodes currently available.
Ballard Season 2 is happening, and it’s possible it’ll debut either later this year or early in 2027. Subscribers won’t need to wait long for new content, but in the meantime, they can check out the show’s initial run. For fans of crime dramas, it’s a must-watch.
