
The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) made a significant impact at ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world’s premier travel trade events, held from March 4 to 6. The state’s booth, located at Hall 5.2, Stand 227, showcased Madhya Pradesh as a unique and multifaceted tourism destination, offering a wide range of experiences to attract international visitors.
The grand opening of MPTB’s stall was officiated by His Excellency Ajit Gupte, Ambassador of India to Germany, alongside key MPTB representatives and industry partners, marking a key highlight of the state’s participation in ITB Berlin 2025.
The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) delegation was spearheaded by Mrs. Bidisha Mukherjee, the Additional Managing Director, along with Mr. Saurabh Pandey, the Manager of Events and Marketing. The delegation also included Mr. Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Culture, Tourism, Religious Trust & Endowment, and Dr. Jeevan Singh Rajak, Officer on Special Duty to the Hon’ble Minister, along with influential stakeholders from Madhya Pradesh.
During the event, Mrs. Mukherjee engaged with key B2B partners, establishing valuable connections for collaboration and investment opportunities within the tourism industry. She also took part in several media interviews, effectively promoting Madhya Pradesh’s tourism prospects on a global scale.
Madhya Pradesh is fast gaining recognition as a clean, eco-friendly, and secure destination, with a growing focus on spiritual, cultural, and adventure tourism. The state witnessed an impressive surge in visitors, reaching a record 112.1 million in 2023, a significant increase from the 34.1 million recorded in 2022—highlighting its rising popularity among international travelers.
With its rich cultural heritage, archaeological wonders, and historic landmarks, Madhya Pradesh provides a unique and enriching travel experience. It also stands as a safe destination for solo women travelers, ensuring high standards of safety and hospitality.
As a leader in Responsible Tourism, Madhya Pradesh promotes eco-tourism, sustainable travel, and community-based initiatives that set new standards in India’s tourism sector. Its focus on sustainability and local empowerment makes it a role model for responsible travel.
To further strengthen tourism ties with Germany, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board will organize a familiarization trip for German delegates beginning on March 16, 2025. This initiative will provide German tour operators with a firsthand experience of the state’s exceptional tourism offerings, fostering stronger bilateral tourism relations.
