The Prince and Princess of Wales were caught on camera sharing a sweet moment today as they stepped out in central London to join King Charles and the rest of the royals for a very poignant service to celebrate Commonwealth Day. The King led the Royal Family and the nation at a special service to mark the 76th Commonwealth Day. He was joined by Queen Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate, the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and a 2,000-strong congregation at Westminster Abbey for this year’s event, which had the theme of “Together We Thrive”, celebrating the “enduring spirit of the Commonwealth family”.
William and Kate were caught on camera appearing to share a joke and laughing together as they entered the Abbey. Last year, both Charles and Princess Kate missed the commemorations after they were diagnosed with cancer. In this year’s Commonwealth Day message, the King, who is head of the family of 56 nations, said that restoring the “disrupted harmony of our entire planet” is the most “important” task facing humanity, while he also remembered the “sacrifice and selflessness” of Commonwealth forces who answered the call to fight with Britain and her allies. Later today, the King will launch the inaugural King’s Baton Relay at Buckingham Palace, officially starting the countdown to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. In the evening, the King and Queen will attend the annual Commonwealth Day reception.
