While the television side of Star Wars has proven much more successful than the feature film side of things, there is the occasional project that ends up not having a bright future ahead of itself. Whereas shows like The Mandalorian and Andor were able to tell the complete stories they wanted (with the former transitioning to the big screen), other series, like The Book of Boba Fett and The Acolyte, wouldn’t live past a first season. Now, Boba Fett actor Temura Morrison has spoken out about the ambiguous future for the character and his series, while also expressing his wish to return to a galaxy far, far away.
While promoting his new movie Ka Whawhai Tonu (In The Fire of War), Morrison talked to Collider about his lack of appearances in Star Wars projects, which the interviewer was saddened by. The actor would agree, saying:
“I’m sad too. Where is The Book of Boba Fett Season 2? Where the hell is Season 2? I know they’re doing Ahsoka Season 2. I’m going, ‘Ah, where’s my Season 2?'”

It’s a surprisingly blunt response, but an unsurprising one given the fact that the first season of Book of Boba Fett featured an open-ended conclusion, leaving the door open for more adventures with the bounty hunter. The season-long conflict against the Pyke Syndicate in The Book of Boba Fett ended with the titular character and his allies finally gaining control of Mos Espa on Tatooine. With that, Boba Fett becomes the Daimyo of the area, filling the power vacuum and setting a new status quo for any future installments. Unfortunately, that second season still hasn’t come.
Season 2 of ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ is Looking Unlikely
Temura Morrison remains persistent about wanting to return, despite all signs pointing to there not being a second season of The Book of Boba Fett. The actor would add in the same interview that he would bring the character up to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau at Star Wars Celebration. As Morrison would say in the story, he’d express his gratitude for the chance to play the character again, even if the Disney+ series ends up being the last appearance of the character:
“Dave and Jon, I actually ran into them at Celebration. You know what it’s like when you see guys, they got a look on their faces, and there’s so much going on. And I go, ‘Hey, hey, hey. Remember Boba Fett’ We had a big hug. And at the end of the day, I said, ‘Look, look, I’m not sure what’s going on with you guys, but anyway, I had a great time. Thank you so much.'”
While the next logical appearance of the character would be in The Mandalorian and Grogu movie, which is due for release next year, Morrison has already confirmed that he won’t be making an appearance in the project. However, never say never, as Morrison would mention in the interview that “they [Filoni & Favreau] kind of said, ‘Well, well,’ they didn’t want to say too much, put it that way. There were a few whispers of — they didn’t want to say too much — but they just left it at that.” The actor essentially teased that there may yet be more Boba Fett to come, though in what capacity is anyone’s guess.
