In the 3.30pm Handicap Hurdle, Wbee went wrong just after the second last hurdle and was pulled up quickly.
But due to the injury the horse was suffering with, he was unable to be controlled fully by jockey Alan Doyle.

Which resulted in the ten-year-old running through a railing, colliding with attendees.
The racecourse confirmed in a statement: “Cartmel Racecourse can confirm that during the third race of today’s meeting a horse experienced a veterinary issue that caused it to deviate from the course, where it came into contact with a group of spectators.
“On-site medical teams responded immediately and two people were taken to hospital for further treatment.
“The horse, Wbee, received prompt veterinary attention on site but sadly did not recover.”
Cartmel was hosting its final meeting of the season, but instead saw a tragic accident unfold.
Racing was delayed by an hour to deal with the unprecedented events that transpired.
The Gypsy King went to Cartmel to watch two horses with manager Spencer Brown, including the filly trained by James Moffatt named after the boxer.
The horse did not place and it wasn’t too much of a surprise as the winner, Dignam was rated 33lb higher than the filly making her hurdle debut.
Fury labelled Cartmel as his ‘favourite racecourse’ and was asked live on Racing TV what else set the course above the rest, he simply said: “The sunshine, the alcohol and all these people.”
Brown added: “We’ve got five horses together; we’ve got various flat horses and three good jumps horses.
“She [Big Gypsy King] ran on the Flat at Doncaster two weeks ago in a 0-60 handicap, so we thought we’d give her a run out. She’s been jumping for three weeks.
“She’s won already and Sea The Clouds is a recent winner, so we’ll keep plodding away and having a bit of fun with the game.”
Wbee trained by Gary Hanmer won seven times for connections, running a total of 27 times including 23 races over hurdles.
