Sunday horse racing tips

  • LONGCHAMP
    1.15: Nighttime 3/1 (1pt)
    3.05, Arc: Minnie Hauk 7/2 (1pt) & Byzantine Dream 12 each-way (0.5pt)

Nighttime

Three wins in a row for this two-year-old colt now including in listed company at Deauville and July and then after a short break to land a Group 3 at Lonchamp.

Ideal prep coming into this and the Wootton Bassett horse looks the part, having been favourite for every race he’s been in.

Minnie Hauk & Byzantine Dream

Both Japanese horses Croix Du Nord and Byzantine Dream went over to France in August, in preparation for the Arc this weekend.

They’ve acclimated and settled well by the looks of things as both won here on their first races in France.

The latter has been impressive for trainer Tomoyasu Sakaguchi, beating Sosie last time out under the guidance of Oisin Murphy.

And the jockey has been booked to ride him since Royal Ascot so there’s been a long plan to try and land a race that Japan racing has been desperate to win.

Byzantine Dream did well in the circumstances over course and distance to run on between Sosie and Almaqam, having had an awkward start, but kept on in the final furlong to get the victory.

The pace was set at a fairly decent gallop but he was very eye-catching making his way through and could be more dangerous with a kinder run-in.

However, he’s not been helped being drawn into stall 15 and makes it tough for the Japanese contingent but still makes a decent each-way punt as his price is drifting massively due to the draw results.

Aventure placed second in the Arc last year when carrying 8-9, like Minnie Hauk will.

O’Brien’s star has drawn stall one which gives the team a huge chance to get that crucial early lead.

And she’s favourite for a reason after going unbeaten in her last five, with the last three being Group 1 contests over 1m4f.

She was even supplemented by the yard at a hefty cost of €120,000 which only screams of high confidence from Ballydoyle who’ve had an incredible amount of Group 1 successes already this season.
