Erika Kirk Responds to Theories About Husband’s Death During CBS News Town Hall

Turning Point USA Chairwoman and CEO Erika Kirk, 37, responded to the series of allegations that podcaster Candace Owens and online commentators had made surrounding her husband’s public assassination.

“This is the first time that we have seen evil on display where we have social media at our fingertips,” Erika Kirk said during a town hall aired on Dec. 13 and moderated by CBS editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.

“Something so evil that happened people are wanting answers immediately. They are wanting to figure out how to wrap their mind around this.”

Erika Kirk became the chairwoman and CEO of Turning Point USA after the organization’s founder and her 31-year-old husband, Charlie Kirk, was murdered on Sept. 10 while speaking to a crowd of students at Utah Valley University.

“Do you believe that Tyler Robinson murdered your husband?” Weiss asked, referring to the 22-year-old suspect who has been charged with the crime.

“Yes, I do,” Erika Kirk said.

“Why do you think it is so hard for so many people to believe that reality?” Weiss questioned.

“Because it’s too simple,” Kirk responded.

“Again, everyone always has to think there’s more to the story. Well, sometimes there’s not. I’ve seen the autopsy report, I’ve seen our case pulled together, I’ve been in constant contact with our lawyers—our, the prosecuting team—I’ve seen it all.”

Kirk said she doesn’t want to put all of the evidence out there because the defense could poke holes and separately risk having an unfair trial because of a tainted jury pool.

Weiss listed a series of conspiracy theories going viral online, such as social media users alleging Erika Kirk was a Mossad agent and separately alleging that she wore rings that symbolize a “secret plot,” which Kirk denied.

Weiss mentioned allegations that political commentator Candace Owens made, including that people who wore maroon shirts in the crowd on the day Charlie Kirk died may have been part of an “elite airborne operation.”

Owens also alleged that two Egyptian planes were tracking Erika Kirk between 2022 until her husband’s death, with 73 Egyptian flights that allegedly “overlapped” with the widow. Owens alleged Charlie Kirk was present at 29 of those flights.

“I was pregnant for 90 percent of those trips,” Erika Kirk said. “Mind you, I’ve never—all those places they said I traveled [to] I’ve never been—I mean I’ve been but I’m not within those states that they’ve—”

Weiss cut in and asked if Kirk even needed to address the issue.

“I do,” Kirk replied.

“I do on that one only because, only because from a humor standpoint, humor standpoint, I intentionally, when I was pregnant, hid. Not because I was embarrassed. Not because I didn’t want anyone—yes we did keep it very private. But it’s because it was a moment very sacred. I was growing a human inside of me.”

Kirk denied being “on an Egyptian plane” and said she has photo evidence to prove at least one of the dates was incorrect.

“What do you want to say to her and the other people that are putting these lies out into the world right now?” Weiss asked in a preview clip that debuted days before the interview.

“Stop,” Kirk responded. “That’s it. That’s all I have to say. Stop.”
