‘Camp Rock 3’ Gets Release Window and First Poster

18 years after the original Camp Rock hit the Disney Channel, and 16 years after the second film, the franchise will return for a legacy sequel. Camp Rock 3 was first announced in 2025, with original star Demi Lovato serving as executive producer. The Jonas Brothers and Maria Canal-Barrera will reprise their roles from the original Camp Rock films. Just in time for the Disney Upfronts, the first official poster and release window for the television movie have been revealed.

Disney released the first official poster for Camp Rock 3 on X. The film’s poster also confirms the movie will debut in August on both Disney Channel and Disney+. No plot details have been revealed about the third entry. Sherry Cola (Joy Ride), Liamani Segura (High School Musical: The Musical), Malachi Barton (The Villains of Valley View), and Lumi Pollack (Electric Bloom) join the returning cast members.

Camp Rock debuted on Disney Channel on Jun. 20, 2008, and with 8.9 million viewers, it was the second-best premiere for a Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) behind only High School Musical 2. The sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (not final anymore), debuted on Sept. 3, 2010, and debuted with 7.9 million views, the most for a film on cable television in 2010 and the biggest cable program that week. A singing competition based on the movie, titled My Camp Rock, aired in the United Kingdom.

Camp Rock centered on aspiring teenager Mitchie Torres (Lovato), who visits a summer camp titled Camp Rock. The Jonas Brothers star as Connect 3, a fictional rock band, with Joe Jonas playing Shane Gray, the spoiled and arrogant lead singer of the band who returns to Camp Rock to rehabilitate his public image. The sequel saw Camp Rock go head-to-head with another, more expensive and well-funded musical summer camp titled Camp Star.

Camp Rock 3 is the latest in a string of Disney Channel revivals. After a failed attempt at reviving Lizzie McGuire, which was scrapped after filming two episodes, Disney successfully revived The Wizards of Waverly Place with the sequel series, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Like Demi Lovato on Camp Rock 3, original Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez served as an executive producer on the revival and also had a recurring guest role on the series. While Lovato is not expected to appear in Camp Rock 3 in a major role, those who watched the original movies will likely hope to see her return for a cameo.
