During Harry’s visit, the duke met with his father at Highgrove House. He was joined by his wife, Meghan Markle, their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and Queen Camilla. The Queen has been the subject of several of Harry’s claims in his book, which was published in 2023.
Harry mentioned Camilla on more than 60 occasions in Spare, branding her “the Other Woman” as well as his “wicked stepmother”, the latter reportedly having a particularly strong effect on Charles, according to reports.
But despite that, the Queen allegedly greeted him with a smile and offered tea during the private family reunion in Gloucestershire.
The Daily Mail reported that the atmosphere last month was “polite with no recrimination”.
Camilla allegedly had a “fixed smile in place” and offered tea to her stepson despite her claims against it.
The move was dubbed a show of goodwill, which “calmed the Sussexes’ fear of returning”.
The report added that such domesticity is unlikely to come from the Prince and Princess of Wales’s camp.
Queen Camilla – fixed smile in place – offered tea to her stepson despite his public denunciation of her as ‘evil’, and it would appear that the goodwill shown calmed the Sussexes’ fear of returning.
William – a future king – is estranged from his brother after Harry levelled a barrage of accusations against the prince, Catherine, the King and Queen Camilla in the years since the Megxit crisis of 2020.
