Jason Statham’s 119-Minute “John Wick Meets Heat” Action Thriller Confirms New Free Streaming Home

Jason Statham had a rough year at the box office after both Shelter and Mutiny failed to live up to expectations. The former barely made back its money, while the latter grossed just $30 million against a $40 million budget. It was a disappointing result to say the least, especially considering how popular The Stath has become in recent years. Thankfully, there are dozens of hits in his arsenal to fall back on, and it just so happens that one of his best has just found a new free streaming home.

Jason Statham Goes Full John Wick in a Near-Perfect Action Thriller

Serving as the fourth collaboration between Statham and director Guy Ritchie, Wrath of Man sees everyone’s favorite action hero take on the role of Patrick “H” Hill, a quiet yet intimidating man who gets a job at an armored truck company. While he seems like just an ordinary guy, his co-workers discover he’s so much more when, during a daring daylight heist, he takes down multiple attackers with remarkable precision.

Presented in non-linear fashion, it’s eventually revealed that H himself is a notorious criminal. After his son was killed during a Heat-style robbery, he devised an elaborate plan to kill the men responsible, posing as a regular joe looking for work. His job at the armored truck place is just a front that allows him to get closer to the action. When it’s time, he goes full John Wick whilst getting his revenge over the deeply personal loss.

Hitting theaters on May 7, 2021, Wrath of Man earned more at the box office than Shelter and Mutiny combined. It grossed $104 million against a budget of $40 million, making it a bona fide hit for Statham and Ritchie. However, the real story is that the top-notch action thriller quickly became one of Statham’s most beloved movies, as is evident by its audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

While critics gave it a rating of just 68% and called it everything from “a chore to watch” to “needlessly drawn-out in places,” viewers propelled Wrath of Man to a Verified Hot score of 90% on the Popcornmeter. That places it fourth on the list of Statham’s best movies behind The Beekeeper (92%), Snatch (93%), and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (93%). Technically, you could call it third since those last two are really tied for first place.

‘Wrath of Man’ Confirms a New Free Streaming Home

Currently, Wrath of Man is available to stream in the U.S. on Prime Video, but its placement behind a paywall means that it’s not easily accessible to everyone. Thankfully, all that will change next month when the action thriller makes its way back to free streaming.

Tubi has officially confirmed that Wrath of Man will hit the free streaming service on Nov. 1, meaning it will only cost you a few ad breaks to see what is undoubtedly one of Statham’s best movies. It joins other favorites arriving on Tubi next month, including The Fifth Element, Training Day, and The Crow (the original, not the god-awful remake).

Next up for Statham is The Beekeeper 2, which hits theaters on Jan. 15, 2027. He’ll reprise his role of Adam Clay in the anticipated sequel, which will this time see Timo Tjahjanto in the director’s chair instead of David Ayer.
