
Forecasters say a major warm-up is spreading east, bringing well-above-normal temperatures to much of the country.
The hottest conditions are expected in central U.S., where record highs could be tied or broken. The unusual warmth is being driven by a strong high-pressure system pushing heat eastward.
And while much of the nation warms up, it’s a different story for parts of California. Record-setting king tides have hit sections of the state, causing flash flooding and significant damage.
