British Airways has announced two new Avios-Only routes to Madrid and Toulon Saint-Tropez to mark a special milestone for the airline. Avios-Only flights are available exclusively to members of its free loyalty scheme, The British Airways’ Club.
The club’s currency is Avios, which can be collected by flying with BA or its partner airlines, taking a holiday, making purchases when shopping through British Airways at avios.com, or through everyday spending with a range of its partners, such as American Express, Nectar, Avis Budget Group and Marriott. Once enough are collected, members can use them to take to the skies and spend their Avios on flights. Bookings for the two routes opened on February 12, 2026, and they will depart from London City Airport. Prices for a return trip start at just £2 plus 21,500 Avios for Toulon. For Madrid, the trip costs £2 plus 28,000 Avios. Both include 23kg of checked baggage. Seats on the flights can only be purchased using the points.
Toulon is known for its stunning scenery and beautiful harbour. Toulon also has excellent train connections for visiting Marseille, Nice and Cannes and Saint-Tropez.
Madrid is a vibrant city offering stunning architecture, incredible museums and lively festivals. It’s one of Spain’s most exciting destinations.
British Airways’ chief commercial officer, Colm Lacy, said: “We’re excited to release these latest Avios-Only flights, to two top leisure destinations for summer.
“These flights are always incredibly popular, and we’re delighted to give our loyal customers even more opportunities to enjoy the benefits of The British Airways Club.”
IAG Loyalty’s CEO, Adam Daniels, said: “While it’s not been too long since our last Avios-Only flight, we are excited to be starting the year by announcing another two flights on London City Airport’s hottest new routes to Toulon and Madrid.
“With all seats onboard only available to book with Avios, the initiative shows the continued power of loyalty, and opens up greater redemption opportunities for customers during the peak summer months.”
Since launching Avios-Only flights in 2023, British Airways has operated 48 Avios-Only flights to 16 destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East, including Cape Town, Barbados, Sharm El Sheikh, Málaga and Marrakesh.
With this latest news, British Airways will surpass 50 dedicated Avios-Only flights with the return flight from Madrid to London marking the 50th milestone.
