‘Deadpool’ Star Unleashes R-Rated Hell in Insane Trailer for New Action Horror Movie ‘They Will Kill You’

Everything you love about action and horror movies collides in the first R-rated trailer for a violent new thriller that promises to be a blood-soaked treat for genre fans. Led by Joker and Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz, we now have our first footage from the action thriller with a horror twist, They Will Kill You, which you can check out below. Described as the horrific, action-packed offering that occurs when you smash together 2019’s Ready or Not with the martial arts masterpiece The Raid: Redemption, They Will Kill You is due to hit theaters next year.

From New Line Cinema and Nocturna comes They Will Kill You. The film unleashes a blood-soaked, high-octane horror-action-comedy in which a young woman must survive the night at the Virgil, a demonic cult’s mysterious and twisted death-trap of a lair, before becoming their next offering in a uniquely brazen, big screen battle of epic kills and wickedly dark humor.

Discover why everyone is dying to stay at the most exclusive building in Manhattan in the teaser trailer for They Will Kill You, which teases a violent night ahead for Beetz’s housekeeper, who finds herself “entering a community that has seen a number of disappearances over the years.” They Will Kill You is the first project from Skydance’s new horror label Nocturna, which is headed up by none other than It: Welcome to Derry’s Andy and Barbara Muschietti. New Line Cinema and Nocturna present They Will Kill You, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, only in theaters in North America on March 27, 2026, and internationally beginning on 25 March 2026. In the meantime, you can check out the official synopsis below…

“A woman takes a housekeeping job in a mysterious New York City high-rise. As she unravels the building’s dark history of disappearances, she uncovers links to a possible satanic cult.”

‘They Will Kill You’ Promises to Be a Gore-Filled Good Time

The comparisons to both Ready or Not and The Raid are clear, as Beetz finds herself trapped inside a high-rise building and fighting her way out (much like Iko Uwais’ rookie cop Rama in the 2011 martial arts action masterpiece) after discovering that the building is full of people who want to hunt and kill her (just like Samara Weaving’s unsuspecting bride in Ready or Not). Surely, smashing the two movies together will result in nothing less than a gory genre treat.

The new footage and rating certainly suggests so, with They Will Kill You having now been rated “R” for “strong bloody violence, gore, language, and brief sexual content/nudity.” Directed by Kirill Sokolov (Why Don’t You Just Die!) from a script co-written with Alex Litva, the rest of the cast includes Myha’la (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Patricia Arquette (True Romance), Heather Graham (Boogie Nights), and Tom Felton (the Harry Potter franchise).

They Will Kill You director Kirill Sokolov is no stranger to wildly violent horror action fare. The filmmaker impressed with 2018’s Why Don’t You Just Die!, which begins when a young woman asks her boyfriend to kill her father. Of course, he was betting on the old man being so resilient. Praised for being “as wickedly smart as it is energetic,” They Will Kill You promises to take everything that made Why Don’t You Just Die! such a “gore-soaked good time” and turn it up to eleven.

As for Zazie Beetz, They Will Kill You is not the only glorious genre mash-up on the horizon for the Joker star. Beetz joins forces with Oscar-winner Sam Rockwell in the upcoming action sci-fi comedy Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, which already boasts a score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and centers on a man who claims to be from the future.

They Will Kill You is produced by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Dan Kagan, and executive produced by Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, Carl Hampe, Litvak and Sokolov. Behind the camera, Sokolov is joined by director of photography Isaac Bauman, production designer Jeremy Reed, editor Luke Doolan, costume designer Neil McClean and visual effects supervisor Marc Smith. The composer is Carlos Rafael Rivera, the music supervisor is Andrea von Foerster and the casting director is Richard Delia.
