– Multiple explosions have been reported in the Jebel Ali area of the UAE, around 25 miles southwest of Dubai city centre.
– Witnesses reported ‘at least four to five’ to ‘seven’ loud bangs at around 2:40am local time on Wednesday (11:40pm on Tuesday in the UK).
– Witnesses also reported seeing smoke rise across the area and a building on fire. Fire crews appear to be on the scene.
– 47 Street in the Jebel Ali industrial area appears to be closed, which is close to where smoke orignated from, witnesses said. A gas storage facility is located on 47 Street.
– Officials have not commented on the incident, leaving the cause unexplained. Iranian media has claimed Yemini Houthis, a militia group, is behind an attack on the site, while other media in the Middle East has reported it is an industrial accident.
