Edinburgh Airport was evacuated on Friday following reports of a potentially suspicious package. A bomb squad scrambled and a cordon has been set up by Police Scotland.

A statement from the force read: “Edinburgh airport has been evacuated as a precaution following a report of a potentially suspicious package, reported around 6.50pm on Friday, 19 June, 2026. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) are in attendance and a cordon is in place around the airport.”

Images posted on Fife Jammer Locations show huge crowds of passengers waiting outside the airport, appearing to have been evacuated, Edinburgh Live repored.
