Prince Harry travelled to London earlier last week to attend the Court of Appeal hearing into his security arrangements in the UK on April 8 and 9. Despite being in the UK, Harry, 40, is not thought to have met any of his royal relatives – including his father King Charles.
According to HELLO!, the King arrived in London at 10:30am on Sunday for a scheduled cancer treatment, so it was “not possible” for Harry to meet with him. The Duke of Sussex, who travelled without his wife and two children, reportedly arrived in the UK around 3:30pm.
Alongside scheduling problems, royal author Robert Hardman also warned that the King meeting up with his youngest son could pose “legal jeopardy” relating to Harry’s ongoing court proceedings.
In The Mail’s Palace Confidential programme, Mr Hardman said: “There is legal jeopardy which is the simple fact that here you have the son of the King suing the King’s ministers in the King’s court and that just creates all sorts of legal problems.
“It would only need Harry to have a conversation with his father and then afterwards let slip, ‘Oh my dad said this or my dad said that’ and as we know, he does repeat conversations quite readily.
“That could lead to all sorts of problems. It could actually bring down a court case because the king is the fount of justice. He has got to be very careful.”
Shortly after leaving the UK, Harry then made a previously unannounced visit to war-ravaged Ukraine – before travelling home to the US.
Harry, who previously served in the British Army for 10 years and launched the Invictus Games in 2014, visited the Superhumans Center. This is an orthopaedic clinic in Lviv that treats and rehabilitates wounded military personnel and civilians – to see the services provided in a country in the midst of war.
