Texas Congressman Al Green, a Democrat who was censured by the House in 2025 after interrupting President Donald Trump’s address to Congress, and who has repeatedly introduced articles of impeachment against the president, joined NTD on election night as Democrats poised to sweep Texas.
Green attributed the shift to voter concerns about the cost of gas, food, housing, and health care. When asked about Republican concerns that a Democratic Congress would target the president and his allies, he said he expects committees to open investigations, and that impeachment would be the only remedy if they find evidence of corruption.
He also outlined priorities for the first 60 days, including health insurance subsidies and housing assistance for first-time buyers, and responded to concerns that Democrats would move the country toward socialism.
