- NEWMARKET
1.50: Bow Echo 15/8 (1pt)

Bow Echo
Pacific Avenue was just a half length off the winner, A Bit Of Spirit, at Sandown in the Group 3 Solario in August following up a promising debut win at Newmarket.
Move up to 1m is well within this colt’s scope who has registered solid form based on the ratings.
He’s not fancied to win as much as the unbeaten Bow Echo though, the George Boughey trained horse won the Ascendant Stakes, a Listed contest at Haydock earlier this month, beating Publish well.
Billy Loughnane is on board and he won the first race of the day on Friday too.
Beautify
Tipped this horse at around 9/2 for the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes and she not only placed second but drifted in the odds to 9/1 for a much bigger return on the each-way bets.
She shouldn’t be discounted back down to 6f here after showing great determination behind Precise last time out, as the pair were clear of the rest of the field.
She’s still very unexposed and Tom Marquand coming on board is a big plus, even as the second string from Aidan O’Brien.
The Publican’s Son
Appleby is still getting the winners at Newmarket but could have certainly cleaned up with a few of his stars not running to form.
William Buick is on board Wise Approach, another favourite for the pair.
He beat Rock On Thunder by four lengths at Newbury before heading to France to go a close third in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville.
The colt is rated higher than the rest of his opponents but will need to fend off some strong sprinters.
Coppull won the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood in July really impressively.
Though he was a bit behind Wise Approach in France, likely due to taking a keen hold and could bounce back here.
The Publican’s Son is much fresher than the rest of these, having only made his debut at the Curragh in late August.
Going second to Mission Central despite running on from behind at the start.
He was 40/1 for that race and is instantly among some top horses yet second favourite, encouraging especially the way he stormed through the field to finish close up to the winner.
Fort George & Marhaba Ghaiyyath
The ground is very quick this week, unseasonably so for what’s usually a bit damper at the end of September.
As a result we should be looking for horses that love this ground, that can just skip over this firm turf.
There’s a few you can make cases for in this race, some that are in great form, consistent, goes well here, on the ground and over this distance.
Other also have jockeys that can boost their claims as well like Fort George or Westridge.
William Buick and Charlie Appleby will be wanting to get a few winners on Saturday after a few big defeats on favourites throughout the week at this meeting.
Fifth Column ticks a lot of boxes for the pair, as does Marhaba Ghaiyyath and Great Chieftan.
I’ll select two for this big field race and they’ll go to Fort George and Marhaba Ghaiyyath who could suit going forward from fairly low draws in the stalls.
Both have good consistent form, will like the good ground and are great each-way prices too.
Mahons Glory
Wide open contest for this highly rated Class 3 handicap chase.
Mahons Glory is just about the favourite at 10/3 and is the top-rated horse of the field with more still prove.
His last three races under new trainer Dylan Cunha have been incredible.
The nine-year-old is stepping up to each challenge and was only just denied by Mark Of Gold last time out.
Should run well off this mark still and the Fame And Glory gelding can also run well again on return this season.
