The finale of Season 3 of The White Lotus is slowly approaching and fans are still none the wiser as to who this season’s killer and victim(s) will be. This year sees Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, Walton Goggins, Natasha Rothwell, Leslie Bibb, Parker Posey, and more jet off to the idyllic White Lotus resort in Thailand. As is the case with every season, fans have been searching each episode for clues as to who the killer might be and sharing their theories online. Actors don’t normally address fan theories until a show has come to an end, but one theory was so bizarre, Michelle Monaghan had to shut it down.
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Michelle Monaghan was asked about the potential killer in The White Lotus Season 3. The actress remained tight-lipped about the major spoiler, but did shut down the funniest fan theory currently circulating online. “You know, I’ve just got to debunk a theory out here,” she began. So who do fans think is the new killer? Is it Greg (Jon Gries)? Has Timothy Ratliff (Isaacs) finally snapped? Or has Rick’s (Goggins) mission for revenge gone too far? Nope, fans think it is the monkeys that prance around the resort. Monaghan continued:
“Guys, the monkeys did not do it! People have gone ape sh*t thinking that.”

Duke University has released a statement over their branding being present in a pretty violent scene in ‘The White Lotus.’
Season 3 began with The White Lotus‘ signature opening scene, as Zion (Nicholas Duvernay), the son of Belinda (Natasha Rothwell), hid from gunshots coming from the resort and found a body floating in the hotel’s pond. Michelle Monaghan plays Jaclyn Lemon, a TV actress who constantly tops MovieWeb’s weekly list of the worst character in The White Lotus Season 3 each episode. At present, it is unlikely that Jaclyn is the killer. But, with just two episodes left in the season, it is still anyone’s guess as to who will live and who will die by the season finale.
‘The White Lotus’ Has Already Been Renewed for Season 4
Despite creating one of the most popular shows about gorgeous hotels and relaxing vacations, The White Lotus‘ creator, Mike White, doesn’t seem to rest. Before Season 3 was even released, HBO announced that a fourth season was already in the works. Details about Season 4 are scarce. Expect the new season to feature a similarly star-studded cast and beautiful locales.
One of the biggest questions about each new season of The White Lotus is where it will take place. Season 1 dropped its vacationers off in Hawaii, while Season 2 went to Sicily. Season 3 has ventured the furthest abroad by going to Thailand. The most recent report about Season 4 suggests that the show is going back to Europe. However, some are expecting and hoping that the show’s return will jet off towards a new continent. Perhaps a White Lotus resort in Africa? Or Australasia? Or even South America? We will likely have to wait until the Season 3 finale before details about the fourth season are released.
