Heading to the London Marathon Running Show at ExCeL to pick up your race bib? Here is everything you need to know about navigating London this week.
Getting to ExCeL London
To collect your race number, head to Custom House station, which is directly connected to the ExCeL. You can reach it via the Elizabeth line or the DLR.
While these services are running normally, they will be extremely busy with fellow runners. With the big race on Sunday, April 26, it is vital to stay off your feet as much as possible. Give yourself plenty of extra time to ensure a stress-free journey and keep those legs fresh. Using apps like TfL Go or Citymapper is highly recommended for real-time arrivals and route planning.
Tube and Bus Strike Warnings
Travel across London will be trickier than usual due to a series of industrial actions:
London Underground: A 24-hour Tube strike is set to cause significant disruption until midday on Friday, April 24. While some lines may offer a limited service, expect heavy crowding on the Elizabeth line and DLR as passengers seek alternative routes.
Bus Strikes: A separate strike by Stagecoach drivers at the Bow garage will impact seven key routes in East and Central London from 5am on Friday, April 24 until 5am on Saturday, April 25.
The following bus routes will be affected:
8, 25, 205, 425
N8, N25, N205 (Night services)
