
President Trump today announced a U.S. trade agreement with the Philippines, and also laid out the details of a similar deal with Indonesia that was first announced last week. But the agreements go far beyond economics—experts say they are part of a broader strategy to counter China’s growing aggression in the Indo-Pacific.
