
President Donald Trump signed an executive order that paved the way for a deal that would keep TikTok operating in the United States. The order declares that the deal represents a “qualified divestiture” that satisfies a law passed by Congress requiring TikTok’s China-based parent company to divest or face a ban. But looming questions remain, such as whether TikTok users will be safe from Communist Party influence.
