HBO’s The Fall of Diddy is one of the best docuseries to come out in recent memory, taking a dark look at Diddy, aka Sean Combs’ past, and how his allegations of long-hidden violence affected various people over time. The documentary did a phenomenal job of telling some of the tragic stories to the viewers, emphasizing Diddy’s use of fame and money to carve his way to success.
While it was fairly repetitive, with certain scenes lasting longer than they should have, it was only five episodes, making it relatively easy to watch. Having said that, even if many people around the world are aware of the allegations Diddy has faced over the years, few are made aware of the horrifying details that were uncovered after several victims came forward to find justice. With that in mind, here are some of the most surprising revelations from the new HBO docuseries The Fall of Diddy.
A History of Physical and Sexual Abuse
Among Diddy’s accusations shown in the documentary, his sexual abuse of Thalia Graves, the girlfriend of a Bad Boy Records executive, is possibly the most significant. In 2001, Graves was summoned to the studio and driven there in an Escalade to discuss her boyfriend’s incompetence at work, but she believes that her drink was drugged on the way, and when she arrived, she did not find him. Instead, she recalls Diddy bringing her into the lounge area and sexually molesting her. In Graves’ words,
“I remember crying and the next thing I remember was I was slammed on a pool table. I was naked on the pool table and my hands were tied behind my back. Puffy was standing by the bar, and he was naked.”
Combs allegedly filmed the heinous assault and blackmailed her into keeping her mouth shut, so it never went public. However, Graves finally spoke out against him in September 2024, filing a federal lawsuit in Manhattan. 13 years prior to this incident, Diddy was accused of physically abusing a female Howard University student.
In one of the interviews featured in The Fall of Diddy, an anonymous interviewee shared a harrowing experience with Combs in 1988, when the rapper allegedly assaulted a female student with a belt. The entire incident was also described as being witnessed by a woman who tried to stop him but was unsuccessful.

When documentaries center around the underbelly of the upper class, audiences glean more truths than they may have expected.
Diddy and Kim Porter: A Look at Their Complicated Relationship
According to interviewees in The Fall of Diddy, Combs described Kim Porter, the mother of four of his children, as the only woman he has ever truly loved, and this was evident in the late 1990s. Just a year after they (Porter and Diddy) had their first child in 1998, the rapper started dating the Latin icon Jennifer Lopez, with whom he was frequently seen hanging around at events.
However, he went on to reconcile with Porter while still dating Lopez, resulting in an affair that most people would not tolerate, particularly celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez. It was also mentioned in the documentary that Porter, despite being the love of his life, did not escape the fate of becoming a victim of Combs’ alleged abuse.
The Blame Game in the 1999 Club Shooting
Aside from his abusive charges, Diddy has been linked to many unpleasant encounters with people, the most noteworthy of which may be the 1999 club shooting. The Fall of Diddy retells the infamous club shooting at a major New York club in quite an intriguing manner, with an emphasis on Diddy and his former driver, Wardel Fenderson, who claims to have seen a gun in Combs’ hand as he drove the famous rapper and Lopez to the club.
According to investigative journalist Peter Noel, Combs got into a dispute with other club members, which resulted in a fight, where the rising rapper Shyne, who met the stars at the club, grabbed Combs’s gun and started shooting. As the situation escalated more seriously than Combs had anticipated, he fled the scene with Lopez, during which, Fenderson witnessed his boss throw the firearm out the car window.

The Best Actors Who Were Once Rappers
Rapping and acting often play into each other, and some rappers move beyond the world of music and wildly succeed at acting.
Consequently, everyone involved in the incident, including Lopez and Combs, was arrested, and the rapper reportedly offered Fenderson a large sum of money to take the blame. Even though Diddy did not have an easy escape from the case, he was eventually let go, despite strong testimony from Fenderson and Nantania Reuben, a victim of the club shooting. Furthermore, the latter alleged that Diddy himself pulled the trigger that night, aiming at her face. She stated:
“I was certain I was going to die. I didn’t think a human could lose that much blood and survive.”
This incident is a clear reflection of the lengths Combs is willing to go to save himself, even at the expense of others. While The Fall of Diddy does not necessarily indicate that everything that has been alleged has come true, the majority of these charges contain substantial truth, especially given that they were made by people close to the rapper rather than complete strangers.
