What the King really thinks about William’s plan for change – expert | Royal | News

Prince William recently opened up to actor Eugene Levy, the host of Apple TV+’s The Reluctant Traveler, about his plans to modernise the monarchy when he becomes King. The 43-year-old currently holds the title of Prince of Wales, but is next in line to the British throne.

Discussing the future with Eugene, William said: “I think it’s safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good.” William, however, did not go into detail about the changes he has planned. Speaking of the King Charles’s thoughts on William’s recent revelation, historian Robert Lacey said that he believes the 76-year-old will be in full support of his son.

He told PEOPLE: “This shouldn’t be seen as criticism of King Charles.

“He is very close to his father and has been his most important supporter.”

Giving Eugene a rare tour of Windsor Castle, William also spoke of his three children – Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis – and even shared some of their favourites hobbies.

He also revealed that one of his youngest son’s “obsessions” leads to healthy competition between him and Charlotte.

William revealed that Louis is “obsessed” with playing on the trampoline – adding that he and Charlotte “end up jumping up and down on the trampoline, beating each other up, most of the time”.

Speaking of his children, he added: “Apparently, there is an art to it. Charlotte does her netball as well, and her ballet, and so keeping them busy with sports and being outdoors is really important.

“They’re trying to learn musical instruments. I’m not sure how successful we’re being with that. George loves his football and his hockey.”
