Welcome to the start of NFL free agency, one of the busiest periods not only of the offseason but of the entire year, as every team looks to rebuild its roster for the upcoming season.
This year’s free agency period essentially started March 6, when the Baltimore Ravens agreed to send the Las Vegas Raiders two first-round picks in exchange for perennial Pro Bowl pass rusher Maxx Crosby. The Dallas Cowboys, after failing in their bid to land Crosby, traded for fellow pass rusher Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Monday was expected to be busy, and it certainly was as several notable moves were made. Among them was quarterback Malik Willis agreeing to terms with the Miami Dolphins, wideout Alec Pierce signing a historic new deal with the Indianapolis Colts, former Indianapolis teammate Michael Pittman getting traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, fellow wideout Mike Evans coming to terms with the San Francisco 49ers, and running backs Kenneth Walker III and Travis Etienne joining with the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints, respectively.Â
As usual, quarterback news is expected to make up a significant portion of free agency. The first domino fell Monday afternoon, with the Falcons signing ex-Dolphin Tua Tagovailoa to a one-year, $1.3 million deal to join 2024 top-10 pick Michael Penix Jr.Â
Among other notable quarterbacks expected to land on new teams are fellow former first-round pick Kyler Murray and veteran Kirk Cousins — both of whom are set to be released at the start of the new league year on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. Daniel Jones (who received the transition tag from the Colts) and soon-to-be free agent Aaron Rodgers also face uncertain futures.
The biggest news so far Tuesday was Geno Smith returning to the Jets in a late-round pick swap with the Raiders. Other noteworthy moves include Romeo Doubs joining the Patriots and Isiah Pacheco signing with the Lions.
Below is a team-by-team rundown of every signing during free agency.
