It’s almost blasphemous to argue that any other war drama series is better than Band of Brothers, but sinning can be fun sometimes, so I’ll take the risk today. Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks’ show, based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose’s 1992 non-fiction book of the same name, isn’t revered for no reason. It won the Emmy for Outstanding Miniseries and is widely seen as a pioneering entry in the Golden Age of Television, mainly because of its cinematic production values and excellent performances from a strong cast.
