More than a dozen Lloyds and Halifax bank branches are set to close their doors for good next month. The Lloyds Banking Group, which includes Halifax and the Bank of Scotland, has shut dozens of branches so far this year as part of efforts to close 250 stores by 2027.
The rise of online and mobile banking has seen the number of branches on UK high streets steadily decline over a number of years. Lloyds Bank has closed 23 locations across the country this month after 31 earlier this year.
Meanwhile 58 Halifax branches have reportedly shut in 2026, with 20 rolling down their shutters for the final time in October. These figures are expected to rise in the coming months with more closures earmarked.
In November, 13 Lloyds and seven Halifax branches are set to close. Stores in major towns and cities including Harrogate, Liverpool and London are among those due to close down. The below locations, according to Metro, are expected to shut.
More Halifax and Lloyd Bank branches are set to close in the final month of the year. This includes a Lloyds Bank branch in Southampton on December 7 and Halifax banks in High Wycombe and Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, on December 16, Metro reports.
