A poll has revealed whether the British public should change their minds about Meghan Markle now that she’s back in the UK with Prince Harry. Meghan and Harry quit their royal roles in 2020 and left to live in the USA, but now, after six years, the couple have made a return to British soil. Even though they are not working royals, they’re set to stay in Britain leaving people wondering what their future looks like.
Our latest Daily Express poll has revealed the true feelings of Brits. Out of 7,092 Express readers, 171 (2%) voted yes, 6,884 (97%) voted no and 37 people, (1%) voted don’t know. The Duchess has opened up about her estrangement from her father, Thomas Markle Sr.
Thomas Markle Snr is currently at the centre of a police probe after his own son, Thomas Markle Jnr, claimed to have found a stash of child sex abuse images at his father’s former home in Cebu.
The scandal has sent shockwaves around the world, with reports claiming a “deeply distressed” Meghan sent a final, brutal letter to her father last year while he was recovering from a leg amputation.
Meghan allegedly wrote to tell him she knows he is an abuser and vowed he will never see his royal grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Thomas Markle Sr has furiously slammed the claims as “sick lies” and has denied any wrongdoing.
Some royal experts are wondering whether this could be a turning point in public opinion towards Meghan. The Duchess and Harry are reportedly now living in the Cotswolds.
The pair have kept a low profile for the first couple of months back in the UK. In October, they embarked on an official outing together in Nottingham. Although they are not working members of The Firm, the day mimicked a traditional royal engagement. The pair met with charities and talked with people from local communities. Fans lined the street to greet them, giving them flowers and exchanging sweet words with them.
