
A suspect was taken into custody Monday morning after authorities said an individual set off an incendiary device outside 26 Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan. A large law enforcement response was on scene Monday morning, and the FBI’s New York Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating. FBI Director Kash Patel said two people suffered minor injuries.
“This morning an individual deployed an incendiary device outside of 26 Federal Plaza. The individual has been taken into custody, and the FBI New York Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the incident,” the FBI said in a statement to NTD.
Additional video showed emergency crews, federal agents, and police securing the area as sidewalks outside the building were closed and people were evacuated.
