Jet2’s Chief Customer Officer has revealed his booking hacks to help holidaymakers get the best value and choice for 2027. David Hills has shared how Brits looking to book their next holiday can save money and find the cheapest dates and destinations. With winter just around the corner, Brits will no doubt be making plans for their next trip away in the sun – but the thought of the cost can be worrying. From exploring a range of payment options to considering changing how long you plan to be away, these tips could help ensure you get the best deal.
David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Jet2, said: “Booking early puts holidaymakers in the strongest position to secure the break they really want. They can lock in today’s price for a low deposit, spread the cost over more time and choose from our huge range of destinations, hotels and rooms.” He added: “The most sought-after hotels and rooms fill up quickly, so planning ahead gives customers greater choice, more control over their budget and longer to look forward to and plan their well-deserved holiday.”

Explore payment options
There’s a lot of debate about whether last-minute or early booking is best. A big advantage of booking ahead is that there are different payment options that allow people to lock in prices and stay in control of the budget. For example, Jet2 offers three main ways to pay, with one option being a pay-monthly option, with just a deposit.
Booking early locks the price in, too, David says.
Search free child places before booking the hotel
If you’re travelling as a family, looking for free child places are a great way to save money, and there are plenty available for next summer but it’s best to catch them quick, David says. For anyone booking online, filters can help you search to display only packages where a child can travel free, saving you time and effort.
Bag the best rooms in the best hotels by booking ahead
Early booking means customers get to secure the best rooms in the best hotels, as sea and pool-view rooms tend to book up quickly. When searching for the ideal room, consider other requirements too, such as being close to particular areas, such as the pool or restaurant. Booking early puts people in complete control and means they book the best spots before they are gone – which will happen given their popularity.
Make the most of an itinerary
It’s not just the flights and hotels that customers should consider. If people book early there are often deals to be found on the ground, for excursions and days out and customers also safe in the knowledge that they can secure tables at the best restaurants and make the most of the local attractions during the peak holiday months.

Be flexible with flights
A great trick for finding great prices is to search across multiple dates. If customers run a basic search on the Jet2 website and then click “Edit Search”, they can select as many airports as they like, choose their preferred month and then click “View Calendar” to assess the best time and price.
And if people are willing to be super flexible, they can set their destination to “Anywhere” to see a complete monthly grid of the absolute cheapest departure dates and destinations side by side. The earlier people do this, the better choice they will have too, David says.
Break away from the holiday mould and be flexible
David says its best not to feel confined to a seven or 14-night trip. He says most people tend to naturally default to one or two-week holidays, but there’s nothing stopping people from tailoring the length of your trip to suit what they need.
Often, people can save by picking six or nine nights because fewer people are doing the same. It’s a great way to get ahead on 2027’s trip and bag the best holiday for the best price.
Extend the invite
Sharing accommodation is a simple way to cut costs, David advises, so consider bringing the family along or teaming up with friends.
Sharing the cost of a villa could work out cheaper than booking individual hotel rooms, he says.
