A man has been charged with murder of a young woman and attempted murder of a man after police raced to a ‘disturbance’ at a property last week.
Cops raced to a home on Dorking Avenue in Newton Heath, a suburb in north Manchester last Thursday (October 15) after being called to a disturbance. They subsequently arrested Lawrence Johnson, also of Dorking Avenue.
Johnson, 26, was charged with the murder of Alisha Samuels, who was reportedly stabbed to death aged 26. He has also been charged with the attempted murder of another man, who has not been named.
Johnson is due to appear in Manchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday (October 21), but police officers say their investigation is not complete. They are still urging the public to come forward with more information if they have it.
Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant said: “We are continuing to work into establishing the full circumstances of Alisha’s tragic death and to provide Alisha’s family with some answers.
“We have now charged a man, but our investigation is not over. I’d like to thank those that have called and supported our investigation thus far, your reports are always taken seriously and prove vital to our work.
“I urge others who may have information, no matter how small, to please come forward.”
